What is Cadensa?+
Cadensa is a pronunciation practice app for iPhone and iPad. You listen to an example, record yourself, compare the two, read the feedback, and try again, one phrase at a time. It covers individual sounds, words, sentences, shadowing, guided lessons, reading aloud, and conversations.
Which languages can I practice?+
English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Korean, and Chinese. How many exercises there are, and which kinds of feedback are available, vary by language and by device.
Are my recordings uploaded?+
No. Your pronunciation recordings and the detailed analysis of your voice stay on your device, and speech recognition for practice runs on the device. Cadensa does not send practice recordings or transcripts to a server, and does not use practice audio to train models. You decide how long recordings are kept in Settings.
Do I need an account?+
No. Local practice and Cadensa Pro both work without a Cadensa account, and you can restore a purchase with just your Apple Account.
How accurate is the pronunciation score?+
The score is an estimate meant to guide your practice, not a formal assessment. Use it to spot the words and sounds worth another try, and watch the trend over time rather than any single number.
Does Cadensa work offline?+
Core practice works on your device without an account. Some language files or system voices may need to be downloaded once first, and you choose whether to download the on-device pronunciation model. Buying or restoring Cadensa Pro needs an internet connection.
What is free, and what does Cadensa Pro add?+
Core pronunciation practice, daily phrases, core sounds, and a starter lesson, story, and conversation are free. Cadensa Pro unlocks the full libraries of guided lessons, read-aloud stories, and guided conversations, and lets you create your own practice phrases. Monthly and annual plans give the same access. If Pro ends, your saved history and existing phrases stay.
Was Cadensa called Pique?+
