The Short Version
SpendSnap is a fully on-device tracker. Your receipts, purchase history, and charts never leave your device. We do not collect, store, or transmit your financial data to any cloud servers. No accounts, no tracking.
1. Data Collection and Processing
SpendSnap operates entirely locally. All data processing happens directly on your hardware. This includes receipt ingestion, OCR (text extraction), line item parsing, category classification, and AI querying.
- Receipts & Images: Scanned receipts and imported photos are processed and stored locally.
- Financial Data: Extracted prices, dates, and store names are kept entirely offline on your device in local storage.
- Queries: Asking your AI questions about your spending executes a local model and the queries do not leave your device.
2. No Cloud Transmission
We do not use cloud APIs for our core receipt processing.
No Server Analysis
Receipts are not uploaded to our servers for text extraction.
No Telemetry
We do not track your spending habits, purchases, or categories.
3. Device Permissions
SpendSnap may request access to:
- Camera: To scan paper receipts directly.
- Photo Library: To import receipts saved as images or screenshots.
These permissions are only used locally to process receipts and are never used to covertly gather information or exfiltrate photos.
4. Data Deletion
As an offline app, you retain full control. Delete any receipt, category, or the app itself from your device, and that data is permanently destroyed. Since we do not possess a copy on a backend, we cannot restore or recover it.
5. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce an opt-in backup or sync feature in the future, we will update this policy and explicitly ask for your consent before any data syncs outside of your local environment.
