Support & FAQ
Need help with your journey? Here are answers to common questions about Train Mode.
Why does Train Mode need Screen Time permissions?
Third-party iOS apps cannot directly enable Airplane Mode or disable Wi-Fi. To recreate the feeling of an isolated train ride, we use Apple's official Screen Time APIs (FamilyControls and ManagedSettings) to temporarily shield distracting apps. This allows us to keep you focused without compromising your device's security or connectivity.
Can I end a ride early?
Yes. If you need to "disembark" before arriving at your destination, you can tap the "End Ride" button on the train dashboard. After confirming, your app shields will be lifted immediately.
Does Train Mode track which apps I use?
No. When you select apps to block, those selections are securely managed by iOS itself. Train Mode never sees the names of the apps you block, and it does not monitor your screen time or app usage. Everything stays strictly on your device.
What happens if the app is backgrounded?
Your ride continues! The countdown timer works based on timestamps, so if you leave the app or lock your phone, Train Mode will accurately track your session duration and maintain the app shields until your selected ride time expires.
